In much of my work, I explore the interface between virtue, practical reasons, and interpersonal relationships. I am also interested in African philosophy (especially African conceptions of ethics) and comparisons of African and Western ethical theory. While much of my recent work has concerned relatively abstract matters in value theory, I also have a growing interest in various applications of ethical theory. In particular, I am increasingly interested in ethical issues connected with the internet, including the value (and its limits) of privacy and freedom of speech, as well as they ways in which our various relationships are affected by social media.
